Before moving on to inversion in Writing, the following exercises are designed to provide you with practice of parts 2 and 4 of the Reading and Use of English paper, with each question including an example of an inversion. In the first exercise, fill the gaps with one suitable word.

 

In the following exercise, complete the second sentence so it has a similar meaning to the first, using the word given. Do not change the word given and you must use between three and six words.
